Dr. Beatrice Allnutt

Consultant Paediatrician

Beatrice Allnutt, BSc, MBBCh, MRCPCH

Beatrice is an acute paediatrician with over 15 years’ experience in emergency medicine, critical care, neonates and general paediatrics. Currently a consultant at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, she balances her time between the emergency department and general paediatric clinics. She is also the Lead for the Paediatric High Dependency Unit at the trust, a brand new service she developed from the ground up.

She started her undergraduate training in the USA after being awarded a full tennis scholarship. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree Magna Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee at Martin, USA. She was then recruited to a research associate position at St Jude Childrens Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee where she gained valuable research skills, but ultimately discovered that her real passion lay in clinical medicine. She then entered medical training at The University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg South Africa and graduated near the top of her class in 2006. She went on to gain valuable experience completing her 2 year internship at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital outside Johannesburg and 1 year of community service at a rural hospital in the Eastern Cape. She then made the move to the UK to pursue higher specialist training.

She undertook her postgraduate paediatric training in London and rotated through multiple centres of excellence including Great Ormond Street Hospital, The Evelina Childrens Hospital, The Royal Brompton Hospital, Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. She completed general paediatric training with a SPIN (Special Interest) in paediatric high dependency care in early 2021 and then began her consultant post at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust.
